This Wednesday is a day of action in San Diego! Patients, Concerned Citizens, and Advocates will be at the Federal Courthouse at noon on July 21 to protest the DEA raids and the continued bias driven effort by local and federal authorities to subvert state law. Stop raiding patients, and let the state courts resolve state issues!

Dear ASA Members and Concerned Citizens,
Over the past two months, the DEA has raided medical marijuana laboratories and cultivators in Colorado and Hawaii. To make matters worse, the federal government has assisted local law enforcement in dozens of other raids in California, Colorado, and Michigan. U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, will soon conduct the confirmation hearings for Acting DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart. President Obama has nominated Michele Leonhart to be the new administrator of the DEA. Please urge Senator Leahy to aggressively question Ms. Leonhart about recent DEA medical marijuana raids.

2. On Monday, April 19th, at 9:30am at the Federal courthouse in San Diego, Joseph Nunes, a legitimate medical marijuana patient, will be sentenced in Federal court for attempting to follow state law and stay within the confines of Proposition 215 and SB420. Joseph is one of the founding members of the Kush Lounge, a medical marijuana collective in San Diego. The collective was raided and Joseph was arrested on September 9, 2009. Joseph is one of two raid victims being charged federally. Come out in the morning at 9:30 am to support Joseph as he faces the Federal Court and accepts his unjust sentence. The community stands behind him!
3. From 12-2pm - We will be meeting outside of the federal courthouse at 940 Front St San Diego CA 92101 to protest the raids from 9/9/9, Joseph's sentencing and help hold the DEA accountable.
