I've spent the past 30 years working to get my meds the old fashioned way, always a struggle. Now my world is a different place. Being an older woman (not dead yet) it was a little intimidating, you know the whole medical process. Going into my first "pharmacy" was nerve wracking. It was right down the hall from the doc's. High prices and dirty carpets, but I didn't know any better. I didn't know how to order, what did I want?? I told the BT (at the other place) I have trouble sleeping and anxiety. He tossed two plastic containers of meds at me and said "try these". I paid. It felt a little like Kaiser, and not in a good way.
We found The Fire Station online. She decided to go with me. She doesn't take any medication, but wanted to come along because we had no idea what to expect.
You know when you're a kid and you are going to daycare or something for the first time and you are clinging to you mom and anxious as all hell? Then you notice how cool everyone is and how much fun they are having and you're like, "Okay scram mom".
That was what I was like with my wife. "Okay honey, scram now" LOL
If you are about people and being treated like you belong and are valued, The Fire Station is the place to go.
Forget that the bud is frickin' top quality, beyond resonably priced, the location golden, the environment safe and discreet, forget all of that and dont' even consider the great taste and assortment of edibles (and I am a big girl and I know snacks). It's the people, and it's about taking all the time you need with no attitude. It's about asking stupid questions and getting honest answers, it's about joking around, and having a positive experience every time.
I have learned more about my medication in the past 3 weeks (I think I first went in when they were 4 days old) than I learned over the past 30+ years. These great guys are not greedy, not commercial, and they are passionate about their meds and patients.
I guess what I am trying to say is that everyone should feel safe and welcomed at The Fire Station, regardless of age, shape, gender, whatever because they are uber chill and caring.
Now get in there and don't forget to tip your BT's!! |
